You are going to Phuket, Thailand! Phuket is an island in the south of Thailand and it has its own airport.  The Laguna is a 45 minute drive from HKT airport.

Flights from Europe and USA

International trips from Europe or USA usually require 1 stop in one of the big hubs such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok.  If your destination is only Phuket then Bangkok will be the easiest choice.  Other hubs are good to use if you plan to travel elsewhere in Asia.

Once you arrive…

Once you arrive you can either take a taxi to your hotel or rent a car.

Renting a car at Phuket airport is easy and inexpensive. Even though you might not need it much (or at all) during the week, it is still potentially cheaper and more convenient than getting taxis all the time. All major carrental chains have a branch at Phuket airport, but there are also local rental companies available.
